The Mayor and Commissioners of the Town of North East unanimously adopted a $6.1 million budget for the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget for the year that begins on July 1, 2016 during their June 8, 2016 meeting.

The adopted budget retains the Town’s tax rate of $0.48 per $100 of assessed value and includes a 2% inflationary increase in water rates for both in and out of town residents as well as significant investments the Town’s infrastructure by funding deferred maintenance items and design and engineering funding to plan for future improvements to the Town.

A public hearing was held on May 25, 2016 at 7:00 on the proposed budget and tax/water rates. No members of the public testified at that hearing. The Mayor and Commissioners adopted the budget presented at the public hearing with no changes.
